Mid-century style record cabinet in Sapele mahogany.
75 x 41 x 17, mitered and dadoed together for strength and minimalist style, shelves adjustable to nine heights, legs turned on the lathe in-house, and a hand-brushed clear coat that will protect it for many years to come.

72.5" x 36" x 30", bench is 62" x 15.5"(one board!) x 18" The top is 300 year-old southern heart pine with a matching bench. The legs are American chestnut, which has been extinct for almost 50 years; the lumber can't be easily found anymore.

"Mother's Helper" stool made from a salvaged antique rock maple butcher block and just a few board feet of new maple for the top aprons. Also makes a nice cutting board stand.
(I didn't realize when I was designing it that those oak dowels were gonna be a perfect step for him to climb up and out of it, but both the kid and the joinery are extremely sturdy. I can climb in there and jump up and down with it and there is no flex, wobble or creak of any sort. (Yes, I put my furniture through absurd tests of strength before anything goes out).

More baby furniture...1/2" scale solid black walnut Montessori table. Built with the same joinery and durable finish as my full-size builds.
He really likes the freedom of eating at this instead of his high chair so he can come and go and use it for playtime too. 19" x 15.5"
